Simers Right On

January 25, 1998

Oh, sure, some people probably had a good chuckle; thought the heat of summer had gotten to him.

But for those who didn't save The Times' NFL preview of the 1997 season, here's a reminder: Our man T.J. Simers picked the Green Bay Packers and the Denver Broncos to reach Super Bowl XXXII in San Diego.

Because our NFL beat writer isn't one to gloat (at least on Super Bowl eves), we'll do it for him: Told you.

And there's more: Not wanting to be Mr. Conservative (and bleeding Bronco blue and orange), Simers went out on the limb and picked the Broncos to win it all.

Stop chuckling. Just you watch.
