Tech Talk: The Integrated Media Systems Center at USC will host a daylong symposium Wednesday to examine new standards in Internet and multimedia technologies as well as new technologies in natural and synthetic video and audio.

The featured speaker will be Leonardo Chiariglione, father of the MPEG video-compression standard and an authority on other multimedia standards.

After the keynote address, leaders from the film and television sectors will take part in a round-table discussion on how recent advances will affect their industries.
