The Main Library has closed its doors for renovation, but the two remaining branches are extending their services and welcoming new patrons.

Children's story hours will be offered at both Taft and El Modena branch libraries until the Main Library's face lift is completed this fall.

Parents using the El Modena branch, at 350 S. Hewes St., can take their children to story time at 10 a.m. on Wednesdays beginning Feb. 11. The Taft branch, at 740 E. Taft Ave., will offer story hours at 10 a.m. on Tuesdays, beginning Feb. 10.

Parents can register beginning Monday by calling El Modena at (714) 288-2450 or Taft at (714) 288-2430.

Extended hours also begin next week. Each branch will be open from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Wednesday, and from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday and Saturday. The libraries will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. every other Friday.
