The Orange County Society of the Archaeological Institute of America will offer a Feb. 8 seminar on King Ashurnasipal II of Assyria, which is now Iraq, at Southern California College.
The king, who ruled from 883 to 859 BC, built a palace on the shores of the Tigris River. Samuel L. Paley, an archeological detective, will discuss artifacts and lifestyles of the times. Computer-generated images re-creating the original buildings will be shown.
