A 20-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of burglarizing five vehicles in midtown, police said Wednesday.

Efrain Rangel Garcia was being held Wednesday in lieu of $11,000 bail on suspicion of burglary, receiving stolen property and vandalism, authorities said.

He was also being held for allegedly violating probation, possession of alcohol and failing to appear in court, a sheriff's deputy at the jail said. Garcia was scheduled to be arraigned Friday.

Officers arrested Garcia about 12:30 a.m. Wednesday after a resident spotted a vehicle being vandalized in the 600 block of North Oak Street in Santa Paula, said Police Cmdr. Bob Gonzales

Garcia allegedly was in possession of property that had been stolen from five vehicles parked nearby, Gonzales said.
