POP MUSIC | RECORD RACK

In Brief

July 12, 1998|Soren Baker

* 1/2 Sunz of Man, "Sunz of Man (The Last Shall Be First)," Red Ant. Attempting to illuminate their music with an abundance of biblical references, this Wu-Tang Clan offshoot fizzles rather than sizzles. The unsuccessfully linked lyrics match the sparse production, which sounds dated and numbingly flat. Guests Ol' Dirty Bastard and Method Man deliver the album's strongest performances.
