Man's Strangulation Called Accidental

July 16, 1998|PAMELA J. JOHNSON

A 45-year-old Fillmore man was found strangled by a rope in a death coroner's officials called accidental.

Severn Swordling was discovered by a friend about 9 p.m. Tuesday tied up inside Swordling's trailer in the 1900 block of Old Telegraph Road, according to county Sheriff's Deputy Jerry Peterson.

Swordling's friend had become worried after Swordling failed to show up at a Boy Scouts meeting in Fillmore. The friend stopped by Swordling's Fillmore West Trailer Park home, looked though a side window and found Swordling dead, Peterson said.

Deputies forced their way into the locked residence and determined Swordling's death was accidental. Swordling's 16-year-old son was not at home at the time of the death, Peterson said.
