Toppers at the Radisson Huntley Hotel: From the top of this swank beach hotel, Palisades Park, the pier and the beach all come into focus as the sun sinks below the Pacific blue. 1111 2nd St., Santa Monica. (310) 394-5454. All ages, no cover. Full menu.

Chillers: During the day it's a restaurant, at night it's a restaurant-nightclub and as the day closes, it's one of the best places to see the sun sink below King Harbor Marina. 239 N. Harbor Drive, Redondo Beach. (310) 798-3170. 21 and over at night. Full menu. Cover varies.

Rusty's Surf Ranch: The outdoor patio is the primo spot to hear the summer pier concert series and see the sun go down. 256 Santa Monica Pier, Santa Monica. (310) 393-7437. All ages. No cover on weekdays; cover varies on weekends. Full menu.

The Poop Deck: This Hermosa spot on the beach walk is a favorite watering hole among locals, and sunset is when the last bit of light shines in. 1272 the Strand, Hermosa Beach. (310) 376-3223. 21 and over. No cover.

Handlebar at Shutters Beach Hotel is a great beachside bar with a view of the Santa Monica Pier, Venice Beach and an oceanfront sunset to die for. 1 Pico Blvd., Santa Monica. (310) 458-0030. 21 and over. No cover.
