Quality Local News

June 13, 1998

Re Howard Rosenberg's comments on local TV news coverage ("TV Shows Its Primary Colors," June 3). I say Emmy, Schmemmy. Who cares what Channels 2, 4, 5, 7, 9, 11 and 13 do about local news coverage, which in quality is at the bottom of the barrel?

If all the people who are complaining really cared, they would watch "Life & Times Tonight" each weekday at 7:30 p.m. on KCET-TV Channel 28.

Here are newspeople who truly care about Los Angeles. They are knowledgeable and even have opinions which are often different from each other. They have important guests and cover important issues. If The Times really wanted to do a public service, it would have a little box on the TV program page each day telling what these wonderful people will be covering.
