Police Department to Hold Open House Saturday

June 18, 1998

The Police Department will open its doors to the public with its annual open house Saturday.

The program, which is scheduled from noon to 4 p.m., will feature a special weapons attack team demonstration, officers rappelling down a building, police dogs, face painting and a presentation about the jail and other facilities, officials said.

"We like to open up the police department to the public so people can meet the officers and see what we do," said Linda Kalaydjian, community liaison for the Inglewood Police Department. "We're particularly enthusiastic about the chance to introduce our new police chief Ronald Banks to the community," she said.

Also featured will be officer's uniforms for children to try on, and a mobile vaccine unit from Centinela Hospital.
