Citicorp and Travelers Group Inc.'s $69-billion merger was approved by European Union antitrust regulators, removing one hurdle to the largest merger in history.

Corel Corp., whose WordPerfect software continues to lose market share to Microsoft, said it will fire 20% of its staff, and it reported a loss of $8.31 million, or 14 cents a share, for the second quarter as revenue plummeted 28% to $63 million. It earned $4.1 million, or 6 cents, a year ago.
