Mother Bear, 2 Cubs Forage Outside Home

June 27, 1998

It was a case of the three bears but no Goldilocks outside a home Friday morning.

A homeowner awoke to find two black bear cubs and their mother foraging for food in 100 block of Bliss Canyon Road, according to Sheriff's deputies.

The two cubs climbed a tree at the home while the mother waited below at 6:30 a.m. After three hours, the frightened cubs and their mother ran off into the woods as deputies watched.

Deputies from the Temple City station had called county animal control and State Department of Fish and Game for assistance.
