June 27, 1998

The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors has offered a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for the shooting death of a 26-year-old man in April.

Mancini Nichols was gunned down at 12:15 a.m. April 29 after riding away on a bicycle from Lucy's, a 24-hour restaurant at Imperial Highway and Hobart Street in the Athens area authorities said. Nichols' body was found in an alley behind the 1700 block of West 113 Street, authorities said.

Investigators believe there were witnesses who could help find the killer. Anyone with information about the case is asked to call Los Angeles Sheriff's Homicide Department at (213) 890-5500.
