Jewish Community Center to Host Screenwriter

Screenwriter Susan Nanus will speak during a tolerance program at 7 p.m. Sunday at the Jewish Community Center of Orange County. Nanus, a recent winner of the Christopher Award, will base her presentation on her most recent work, "Mamusha--The Rescuers, Stories of Courage in the Holocaust." Tickets are $7 for members and $10 for others.

On display for the rest of June is the photo exhibit "The Rescue of the Danish Jews From Annihilation." Viewing hours vary. The center is at 250 E. Baker St., Costa Mesa. (714) 755-0370.

Calvary Church of Santa Ana will host an installation service for the Gospel Music Workshop of America at 5:58 this evening. Then at 6 p.m. Sunday, the Daryl Williams Trio will be in concert. No tickets are required. The church is at 1010 N. Tustin Ave., Tustin. (714) 973-4800.

St. Mark Presbyterian Church will host a quilt silent auction this Sunday. Proceeds will fund medical treatments for the Rev. Judy Slater, who made the quilts herself. Nanjundappa, professor of social science at Cal State Fullerton, will speak on world population at the 10:30 a.m. service at the Unitarian Universalist Church of South County. Inactive Catholics are invited to a discussion on scripture, morality, faith communities and more at 6:15 p.m. Sunday at Our Lady Queen of Angels Parish Church. Santa Margarita United Methodist Church will have its "Music Camp '98" from 9 to 11 a.m. July 13 to 24. East Anaheim Christian Church will offer a marriage rededication service at 6 p.m. Sunday, followed by an outdoor reception. Couples will renew their vows and share communion.
