Jury Reaches Verdict in Case of Accused Stalker of Spielberg

March 04, 1998

A jury reached a verdict Tuesday in the case against an ex-con accused of stalking movie director Steven Spielberg, but it will remain sealed until today.

The Santa Monica Superior Court panel deliberated about 3 1/2 hours before reaching a decision.

Santa Monica Superior Court Judge Steven Suzukawa will accept the verdict this morning at 9.

The evidence that jurors may have considered against defendant Jonathan Norman included testimony that Spielberg gave last week. The DreamWorks SKG co-founder said that Norman, who allegedly stalked and planned to rape him last summer, terrifies him.
