If You're Easily Ticked Off, You May Need This

"How to Control Your Anger Before It Controls You" By Albert Ellis, PhD, and Raymond Chip Tafrate, PhD. Audio Literature, Two cassettes, Length: 3 hours, $17.95. Read by Stephen O'Hara. Available in bookstores or by calling (800) 383-0174

This has much sage advice for those who need a few pointers on framing their anger and putting it into a rational context. That is, when the authors aren't using a convoluted referral system that gets more than a little ridiculous.

Not that hearing this system is any more confusing than reading it, as it works only slightly better on paper. Most of the text, however, is intelligently, if rather repetitiously, presented. "Homework" assignments and other exercises map out a concrete plan for those with flaring tempers. Some seem a little silly, but others are assertive and educational.

Narrator Stephen O'Hara has one of those voices that could be from Anywhere USA. He is pleasant enough, if a bit bland.
