The Los Angeles County Museum of Art's "Retail Fictions: The Commercial Photography of Ralph Bartholomew Jr." is a look at how photographic images sold product and identity in the 1940s and '50s. Bartholomew's advertising photographs of family life, adolescent adventures and women's roles in the postwar era not only reflected popular culture of the time, but also in many ways served to define it.

8 pm: Comedy

Dennis Miller, Dana Carvey, Rodney Dangerfield and other well-known comedians will be creating laughter for charity at The Comedy & Magic Club in Hermosa Beach. They will raise money for Hollygrove Children's Home, a nonsectarian home for abused and neglected children. The event, which began Monday, continues through Tuesday with different performers each night. Dennis Miller and Jon Lovitz both appear tonight.

"Disney on Ice--Beauty and the Beast" will skate onto the ice at the Arrowhead Pond of Anaheim today through Sunday before moving to the Los Angeles Sports Arena next week. The fabled love story of the beautiful young girl who finds that true beauty lies within will be presented by an international cast, including many skating champions.
