Robert C. Clements; Entertainment Industry Publicist

Robert C. Clements, 72, publicist for the entertainment industry who was co-owner of Club Beverly Hills. The company, which Clements and his wife Rose founded in 1979, handles publicity and promotion for film, television and theater. It also arranges celebrity appearances at the Special Olympics and fund-raising events for such charities as the California Cancer Society and the Crippled Children's Society. Working as a big band musician to pay tuition, Clements attended USC and UCLA and earned a bachelor's degree from Pepperdine University. He began his career working on the back lot of the Mack Sennett Studio in what is now Studio City, and went on to become an advertising and promotion director for several companies. He was a judge for the 19th annual CableACE Awards last year and had served as a judge for television's Emmy awards. On Sunday in Los Angeles of complications of a respiratory infection.
