Re "Crash Spotlights Funding Need," March 25.

I want to offer special prayers and thanks to the families of all the firefighters who risk their lives for us every day.

It shouldn't take tragedy to make us appreciate the character of these men and women who are heroes every day of their lives.

My family and I thank them. Their strength is recognized and appreciated more than they are told.
