El Modena boys' basketball Coach Joe Roussel will not return next season.

Vanguards' Athletic Director Don Mott said he and Roussel, a walk-on coach, came to a mutual agreement over Roussel's departure.

"We have decided we want a coach on campus and he could not do that," Mott said.

Roussel's five-year record was 54-52. The Vanguards were 12-14 last season, but finished tied for second in the Century League behind Villa Park.
