Mystery in England

November 08, 1998

The article on mystery writers in England ("A Mystery Lover's England," Sept. 6) was interesting when it told about Brother Cadfael's country but then petered out covering writers I've never heard of (and I get the "Mysteries by Mail" catalog) and the vastly overrated Sherlock Holmes. The writer ignored the English Fen country, locale of "The Nine Tailors" by Dorothy Sayers. Many people consider this the greatest detective novel of this century (and any article that ignores Lord Peter Wimsey is simply not with it).
