Lancaster 18, Antelope Valley 7--Percy Abrams rushed for 168 yards and two touchdowns in 32 carries to lead the Eagles (8-2, 4-1) at Antelope Valley.

Lancaster, which did not complete in pass in four attempts, secured second place in its second year of varsity play.

Robert LaPlante provided the winning points when he kicked a 42-yard field goal with 2:25 left in the quarter to break a 7-7 tie.

Both of the Eagles' second-half scores followed interceptions. Abrams ran four yards for his second touchdown with 9:36 to play, after gaining 38 of the drive's 40 yards.

Antelope Valley (2-7-1, 1-4) tied the score, 7-7, late in the second quarter by marching 80 in 12 plays, capped by Ron Miller's one-yard touchdown run. Antelope Coach Brent Newcomb dispelled rumors that he would resign after the season by saying he plans to return next year.
