VALLEY ROUNDUP

Making Connections

November 16, 1998

Choosing the right day-care center for your child can be a difficult decision, but getting information on what's available isn't such a daunting task.

The Child Care Resource Center has a list of 2,400 licensed homes and centers, as well as after-school programs and some baby sitters throughout the San Fernando, Santa Clarita and Antelope valleys.

The organization--incorporated in 1976 and funded mainly through the state Department of Education--will give a free listing of providers in your area.

For information, call (818) 756-3366 in the San Fernando Valley, (805) 255-2701 in the Santa Clarita Valley and (805) 949-0615 in the Antelope Valley.

To check the status of a provider's license, call the state Department of Social Services at (310) 337-4335 or (323) 981-3350.
