Police involved in high-risk situations will now get extra protection: vests that are more bullet resistant. The City Council recently approved buying eight ballistic high-risk vests at a cost of $7,232. The city will buy the vests from International Armor, the lowest bidder.

Placentia, along with Brea and La Habra police departments, has entered into a joint venture to create a special response team made up of members from each department.
