Quiz Whizzes

November 19, 1998

Quizmaster Paul Dean is taking the month off but will return Dec. 31 with another set of autos-themed brainteasers.

Last month's quiz, "Every Trivia Bit Counts," posed a bonus question: There has been a Fleetwood Packard and a Cadillac Fleetwood. And let's not forget Fleetwood Mac. The name is almost a century old, but where did it come from?

Highway 1 commuter mugs are on their way to the first 25 readers who submitted the correct answer: the Fleetwood Metal Body Co., founded in 1909 and named after the borough near Reading, Pa.
