AMR Corp.'s American Airlines ticket and reservations agents are voting on whether to unionize in hopes of receiving higher pay. The Communications Workers of America mailed ballots Nov. 12 to 15,000 workers at American, the No. 2 U.S. carrier, and will announce results Dec. 15. It marks the first time ticket agents have voted on joining a union since 1977, when the Teamsters tried to organize the group.
