* I would like to respond to Peta Noble's Nov. 24 letter about adults being rude to her child outside the market. Our local market has become a collection area for numerous charities. You cannot walk into the market without being asked for something. These people stand or sit right by the door, so you cannot gracefully enter without dealing with them first. It really gets to be very annoying after awhile. I used to contribute to some, but it got so out of hand, I just don't anymore.
Even though being rude to a child is never right, many people could just be reacting to collection overkill.
