Bright Ideas to Chew On

November 27, 1998

Think eating right is difficult? Think again. And think variety and colors, like those of the rainbow. The brighter the colors, usually, the healthier the foods, as in your orange carrots, green broccoli and purple grapes. Fresh, frozen and vacuum-packed foods in bright colors are often healthier than over-processed, faded foods. (Doesn't that get your appetite going?)

Bright-colored foods also may contain less salt, fat and additives. And if you eat foods based on color and variety, you'll get a full range of nutrients.

Try 'em--you just might like 'em.
