Tennessee Loses Top Running Back

October 06, 1998| Associated Press

Jamal Lewis, Tennessee's leading rusher, will miss at least the rest of the regular season after tearing a knee ligament in Saturday's victory over Auburn, Coach Phillip Fulmer said.

Washington quarterback Brock Huard will miss 2-3 weeks after separating his left shoulder in Saturday's loss to Arizona. Sophomore Marques Tuiasosopo is expected to replace Huard this Saturday against Arizona. . . . Nebraska starting quarterback Bobby Newcombe is "a little questionable" for Saturday's game at Texas A&M and will see limited action in practice this week because of a partially torn knee ligament, the team said. Backup quarterback Eric Crouch is also hampered by a pulled hamstring and bruised hip.
