Hollywood Training to Give Teens Second Chance

October 15, 1998

Young offenders will get instruction in the entertainment arts under a Los Angeles County program announced Wednesday.

The project is one of several efforts by the Los Angeles County Office of Education to offer specialized, career-oriented instruction to at-risk teenagers and juveniles on probation.

About 35 full-time and independent-study students will be attending classes this fall at the Hollywood Entertainment Museum on Hollywood Boulevard.

The museum is leasing classroom space to the program and providing equipment for instruction in such areas as film editing, computer graphics, broadcast production and sound effects.
