Friday through Oct. 25: Pumpkin Festival with "Spooky Nature Walks," children's parade, a Creepy Crawly Fair (bug, spiders and other creatures), jack-o'-lantern display and other activities, at Descanso Gardens, 1418 Descanso Drive, La Canada Flintridge. Saturday and Oct. 25: Fall plant sale with over 500 kinds of heat-loving plants, noon-5 p.m. Saturday, 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Sunday, at UC Riverside Botanic Garden, Riverside. Exit the 60 freeway at Martin Luther King Boulevard, turn right then turn right again onto Canyon Crest Avenue, following the signs to the Botanic Gardens.
