Some Parts of the Field Were Fine

Padre right fielder Tony Gwynn praised the efforts of the Qualcomm Stadium grounds crew, but the playing surface for Game 3 was still a bit choppy after the San Diego Chargers beat the Philadelphia Eagles, 13-10, here Sunday.

"You're going to get a bad hop or two in the outfield, but both sides of the end zones are real smooth," Gwynn said with a chuckle, alluding to the anemic Charger offense. "The [Dan] Fouts years, the end zones were worn out, but not anymore."
