October 29, 1998|JENNIFER HAMM

Applications to lead workshops at Cal Lutheran University's annual women's conference are due Nov. 6.

Leaders for workshops at the 20th annual Creative Options: A Day for Women are picked on the basis of areas of interest to women.

The March 6 event will feature Wilma Mankiller as the keynote speaker.

In 1987, Mankiller was elected the first woman principal chief for the Cherokee Nation of Oklahoma. She led the tribe until 1995.

She was coauthor of "Mankiller: A Chief and Her People" and won the 1998 Presidential Medal of Freedom.

Last year's conference hosted 70 workshops for 1,000 participants. For more information on applying to lead a workshop, call 493-3345.
