Senior running back Derrel Furutani scored four touchdowns and rushed for a team-high 111 yards in 23 carries to lead Crescenta Valley to a 52-28 victory over Pasadena in a turnover-prone Pacific League game at Glendale High Thursday.

Aided by a turnover deep in Pasadena (4-4, 2-1) territory, Furutani scored on a five-yard run through the heart of the Bulldog defense to give Crescenta Valley (5-3, 2-1) an early 7-0 lead with 9:49 left in the first quarter.

The Falcons forced 11 fumbles, recovering six, and twice intercepted passes by Bulldog quarterback Tony Simon.

On Crescenta Valley's next possession, senior quarterback Seth Santoro hooked up with Wes Jones for a 48-yard touchdown pass to make it 14-0. Santoro completed seven of 16 passes for 117 yards and two touchdowns, both to Jones.

Following another Pasadena turnover, Crescenta Valley capped a six-play, 48-yard drive with a four-yard touchdown run by Furutani to give the Falcons a 21-0 lead with 21 seconds left in the first quarter.

The Falcons added two touchdowns, a 12-yard scoring pass from Santoro to Jones and a 19-yard run by Furutani, then a 29-yard field goal by John Barbaro to take a 38-0 lead.

Simon, who rushed for a game-high 169 yards, put Pasadena on the board on the final play of the first half with a 31-yard run.
