Monrovia 42, La Canada 10--Chet Johnson-Blasucci rushed for 123 yards in 19 carries in a losing effort for the Spartans (4-4, 2-1) at Monrovia.

Darryl Moore completed five of nine passes for 146 yards and a touchdown and ran for 67 yards and two touchdowns to lead Monrovia (7-0, 3-0), the two-time defending Rio Hondo League champion.

Akil Harris rushed for 204 yards in 24 carries and touchdowns of 54 and 15 for the Wildcats, who extended a 22-10 halftime lead with 20 unanswered points in the fourth quarter.

David Rosales rushed for 59 yards in nine carries for La Canada. He scored on a 21-yard run in the first quarter to tie the score, 7-7, after Monrovia had scored on its first play from scrimmage--a 43-yard touchdown run by Moore.

Austin Leach of La Canada kicked a 29-yard field goal on the last play of the first half. Spartan quarterback Nate Dane completed only one of 11 passes for 23 yards, with two interceptions, including one returned for a touchdown.
