Two 14-year-old boys were arrested early Monday on suspicion of setting a new car on fire during the night, according to the Sheriff's Department.
The fire occurred about 12:40 a.m. in the 26900 block of Helmond Drive, said Deputy Michael Irving of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.
The front seat and the dashboard area of a 1999 Saturn parked at one residence were damaged, according to the Sheriff's Department. The teens allegedly also set ablaze a mailbox next door.
The boys were detained by deputies soon after the fires were reported and were questioned at the Lost Hills Sheriff's Station, Irving said. They were arrested about 3 a.m. and released to their parents.
Each boy faces two counts of arson, authorities said.
