September 02, 1998|JOHN CANALIS

Police released a composite drawing Tuesday of a man suspected of abducting and sexually assaulting a 16-year-old girl at gunpoint at Bryan and Tustin avenues.

The man is suspected of confronting the high school student with a gun Aug. 27, driving her to a nearby industrial area and assaulting her, Police Lt. Michael Shanahan said.

The man then released the teen at Redhill and Walnut avenues, Shanahan said.

The man is described as a Latino with medium skin tone, 22 to 25 years old, 5 feet, 7 inches to 5 feet, 9 inches tall, 150 to 160 pounds with closely cropped hair and a noticeable accent.

He was driving a dark blue, early 1990s Chevrolet full-size pickup with an extended cab, police said. They described his vehicle as lowered, with chrome wheels, side running boards, orange pinstripes and a spoiler.

Police ask that anyone with information about the incident call Police Det. Tony Bryant at (714) 573-3250.
