Zodiac Knocked Out of Playoffs

The Zodiac's season came to a close Sunday when the Seattle Sounders won, 2-1, in the first round of the Western Conference playoffs in Seattle.

Seattle's winning goal came in the 76th minute on Dick McCormick's penalty shot.

Eddie Soto put the Zodiac up, 1-0, in the 22nd minute after dribbling through the Sounders' defense from 25 yards to score. Peter Lak tied the score for Seattle 40 minutes later.

Mike Littman finished with seven saves for the Zodiac. Dusty Hurdock had six for Seattle.

The Zodiac, which lost three of the final four regular-season games, finish with a 16-13 record.

Seattle won 14 of the last 20 in the regular season and is 19-12.
