A seminar on "Financial Planning & Personal Investing" will be held from 6 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Consumer Credit Counseling Service, Suite 107, 990 Enchanted Way, Simi Valley. The focus is on how to get out of debt and begin saving.

* "How to Finance Your Small Business," a workshop by Gold Coast Small Business Development Center, will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. Wednesday at 5700 Ralston St., Suite 310, Ventura. Topics include traditional and nontraditional funding sources, SBA loan programs, bank criteria for approving loans and basics of financial management.

* The Channel Islands chapter of the California Society of Enrolled Agents will hold its dinner meeting at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Carrow's Restaurant, 2401 Harbor Blvd., Ventura.

* The fourth annual Ventura County Business Opportunity Fair will be held from 1 to 5 p.m. Thursday at the Hyatt Westlake Plaza, 880 S. Westlake Blvd., Westlake Village. The fair is an opportunity for small businesses to network with purchasing professionals from large corporations and government agencies.

The cost is $5 for fair admission and $5 for an 11:30 a.m. luncheon featuring keynote speaker Barbara A. Mintzer. Reservations for the luncheon are required. Call (805) 654-3778 for information or reservations.

* A Stock Selection Guide workshop, sponsored by the Channel Islands Area Council of the National Assn. of Investment Clubs, will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Ventura County Deputy Sheriff's Training Center, 1690 E. Ventura Blvd., Camarillo. It is recommended for intermediate investors.
