Production Expands at Diodes' China Plant

April 06, 1999|BARBARA MURPHY

Diodes Inc. in Westlake Village said that production at its KaiHong facility in Shanghai, China, has been expanded to include three new small-signal miniature semiconductor packages.

The expansion brings to five the number of products made at the facility. Company officials said the new packages--which are available in a variety of configurations and can be customized for specific applications--offer significant advantages in terms of size.

Target markets include manufacturers of products for which portability and high density are important, such as laptop computers, cellular phones, cameras, disk drives, modems and interface modules. The new products are also expected to appeal to manufacturers contemplating redesign of circuitry boards.

Diodes produces semiconductor devices and customer support to manufacturers in the automotive, electronics, computer and telecommunications industries.
