Alemany 13, Loyola 10--Matt Sgro's single drove in a run to break a 10-10 tie and highlight a four-run seventh-inning for the Indians (9-6, 2-1) in a Mission League game at Loyola.

Edgar Merino had three hits, and Jesse Fernandez and Joe Fama homered for Alemany.

Sylmar 6, Reseda 0--Larry Anguino doubled and homered, and Ivan Hernandez struck out 10 in six innings for the Spartans (11-3, 5-0) in a Valley Pac-8 Conference victory at Reseda.

Birmingham 3, San Fernando 2--Isidro Villareal hit a two-out, two-run double in the fourth to give the Patriots a Northwest Valley Conference victory at Birmingham.

Billy McGrath (2-1) pitched a two-hitter, struck out six and walked one for the Patriots (10-8, 1-5) and hit a home run.

McGrath gave up a home run to Francisco Enriques to start the game and a fourth-inning single to Larry Brown.

Crescenta Valley 11, St. Francis 1--Mark McCauley hit a triple, double and single and scored two runs, and Luke Peterson had two hits and drove in two runs for the Falcons (12-1) in a nonleague game at Stengel Field.

Hart 7, Murrieta Valley 2--Jamie Shields pitched a five-hitter and struck out 12 for the Indians in a La Palma Kennedy tournament game at Brookhurst Park in Anaheim.

Marke Horvat drove in three runs for Hart.

In an earlier game, Tim Baresi and Justin Wiley each had run-scoring singles, but Hart (14-3) fell to Katella, 3-2.

Burroughs 11, Burbank 9--The Indians rallied from a 7-0 first-inning deficit, taking the lead for good on Dan Merwin's two-run single in the sixth inning of a Foothill League game at Burbank.

Jesse Dominguez and Jesse Perez hit solo home runs in the rally, and Tony Sandoval added a three-run home run for the Indians (8-9, 3-3).

Jon Ueland got the final two outs to earn his first save.

L.A. Baptist 14, Kilpatrick 8--Daniel Acuna and Scott Swenson hit three-run home runs for the Knights (11-2) in an Alpha League victory at L.A. Baptist.

Acuna had three hits and three RBIs.

Oxnard 11, Whittier Christian 0--Paul McAnulty hit two home runs for the Yellowjackets in around-robin game of the Arcadia tournament that was called after five innings because of the 10-run rule at Arcadia High.

Matt Adams pitched a two-hitter and struck out four for Oxnard (5-8-1).
