Ramirez Is Promoted

Shortstop Joel Ramirez of the JetHawks was promoted on Wednesday to double-A New Haven of the Eastern League.

The JetHawks recalled infielder Jose Moreno from Class A Wisconsin of the Midwest League, received right-handed pitcher Jason Turman from the Seattle Mariners' extended spring training camp and assigned first baseman Rick Southall to Wisconsin.

Dodger right-hander Antonio Osuna will start tonight for San Bernardino against Lancaster in a rehabilitation assignment. Game time is 7:15 at the Hangar.

Triple A--Left-hander Randy Wolf (El Camino Real High, Pepperdine) allowed three hits over seven innings Wednesday night for Scranton-Wilkes Barre (Phillies) in a 5-1 victory over Ottawa in an International League game at Ottawa. Wolf (2-0) has not allowed a run in his first two starts, spanning 14 innings. He struck out nine, bringing his total for the season to 15. Ryan McGuire (El Camino Real, UCLA) hit a sacrifice fly in the ninth inning for Ottawa. . . . Second baseman Torey Lovullo (Montclair Prep) hit a home run for Scranton-Wilkes-Barre (Phillies) in an 18-5 loss Tuesday night to Rochester. . . . Left fielder Kevin Millar (Hart) hit a three-run home run Tuesday night for Calgary (White Sox) in a 6-2 victory over Nashville in a Pacific Coast League game.
