Campo de Cahuenga Foundation

Re "Battle Looms at Treaty Site," April 11.

What a concept! The Los Angeles Department of Transportation wants to "preserve" the original Campo de Cahuenga foundation by paving over it. They certainly are not preserving it for me, since I will not live long enough to see it uncovered.

I have lived near the site for 20 years and consider it a privilege to live near such a historical place. They should realize that they simply cannot have this small piece of land for traffic patterns and go to one of their alternatives.
