This week is National Organ and Tissue Donor Awareness Week. The United Network for Organ Sharing, which administers the national Organ Procurement and Transplantation Network and the U.S. Scientific Registry on Organ Transplantation under contracts with the U.S. government, had, as of April 7, a national patient waiting list for organ transplant that included:
