April 22, 1999

Robert Parry, president and chief executive of the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco, today will address UC Santa Barbara Economic Forecast Project's 18th annual seminar and will present the U.S. economic outlook from a monetary policymaker's perspective.

As a Fed bank president, Parry attends the Federal Open Market Committee meetings, chaired by Alan Greenspan and which set the nation's monetary policy. Parry heads the largest of the 12 districts in the Fed system; the San Francisco bank serves nine Western states, which comprise about 20% of the U.S. population.
