Eurailpasses and Europasses are again valid for six months, rather than just three months, after purchase. Citing "market feedback." Rail Europe last week rescinded the shorter time limit, which it had imposed Jan. 1. It said those who bought their passes before April 21 can get them reissued, with the six-month limit, for free. Call your travel agent or (888) 382-7245. . . . New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art last week reopened its highly regarded classical Greek galleries, with works from the 6th through 4th centuries BC, after three years of renovation. . . . You can now book Washington, D.C., hotels online at the Convention & Visitors Assn.'s Web site, http://www.washington.org. The service is run by Hotel Reservations Network, a discount hotel booking service. The visitors association said the site handles about 70% of its member hotels.
