DANA POINT
In closed session, the City Council recently interviewed a pair of candidates to fill the city clerk position, which has been vacant since August.
City Manager John Bahorski said the applicants were interviewed by the council last week, but declined to comment on how soon the position could be filled.
Bahorski said the void has been felt at City Hall, which is already short-staffed in a number of other departments.
“All we’re really doing is keeping the ship afloat, so to speak,” he said. “We’re doing the bare minimum in getting the [City Council’s] agenda out, but we’re not doing anything beyond … that.”
