TUESDAY--Federal Reserve Chairman Alan Greenspan delivers his semiannual report on the state of the U.S. economy to the Senate Banking Committee. A bonanza of good economic news should lift the tone of his address, but Greenspan also may warn that dangers lurk for a booming economy that has defied all expectations of a slowdown.
* The Conference Board is expected to report that the strong economy is encouraging consumers. The New York-based business research group's index of consumer confidence is forecast to rise to 128.8 in February from 127.6 in January.
