When you buy a sandwich at La Brea Bakery, you can be sure the bread will be as good as the filling. One day, turkey and bacon Dijon came in seeded sourdough bread, while goat cheese, red peppers and basil were layered inside walnut bread.
The neatly wrapped sandwiches start appearing between 8 and 9 a.m., so you can pick one up on the way to work. By 11 a.m., they're all ready. The selection is small, perhaps three or four varieties, and changes from day to day.
