LOS ANGELES — Lawyers for Drug Abuse Resistance Education, or DARE, on Thursday withdrew a $10-million libel suit against journalist Stephen Glass, who has admitted fabricating quotes and sources in negative articles he wrote about the anti-drug organization, based in Culver City.
Under a tentative settlement reached last month, Glass agreed to sit down with DARE's lawyers to answer questions about the editing and fact-checking procedures at New Republic and Rolling Stone magazines, which published the stories.
